Lady with the Unicorn, " La dame à la licorne " “Touch” Tapestry
A 20th Century tapestry reproduced from one of the original “Lady and The Unicorn” tapestries as part of the series of six original Belgian tapestries centered around The Lady with The Unicorn, woven in the 1500s. The series of six tapestries each features the lady with the unicorn on her left and the lion on her right, amongst other animals in varying scenes, set amongst a red background. The six tapestries represent the five senses, and the meaning behind the remaining sixth tapestry has inspired countless theories. This tapestry represents touch. The original tapestry set is on display at the Musée de Cluny in Paris.
